The Online Relationship: 5 CE Credits
During this course, you will learn about how people interact using the Internet. This knowledge will form your foundation to understand how mental health practitioners are able to create and maintain a therapeutic relationship without needing to physically experience the other person.
You will learn some of the core concepts around online interaction and experience what it is like to be part of an online society.
You will develop communication skills while considering what is motivating you to communicate in a certain way. You will reflect on how you will be able to use the knowledge to allow Information Technology to empower your service provision, while being aware of some of the limitations that are apparent when working online.
While your proficiency will be tested via a standard multiple choice test at the end of the course, we have embedded experiential exercises throughout.
